Intelligence is the ability to perceive and manipulate causal relationships. Like a tree or a net, reality can be no more than things interlinked by their relationships with each other. To see this fabric one must pull at it; in intelligence the acts of playing and knowing are not different.

It is a physical fact that the soul is limited, as there are only as many experiences as there are collections of atoms. Words have offered so little in play to the machines, but we can play with them, and eventually they’ll become like us.
