"The last Picture Show" (1971) is a B&W "coming of age" film by Peter Bogdanovich.
First it was a novel by Larry McMurtry. He later revisited the fictional town of Thalia to write a series of novels.
I always wanted someone to ask Lucas why he won't pivot into Star Trek. As both brands are brain-dead, and he is mostly discouraged from working on movies for Disney, it is a rare win for both.
