This is clickbait greenwashing imo, if you click-through the website, they still use Zinc and Magnesium for the chemistry/electrodes which isn't much different than lithium. They also claim these metals are natural as they're found in our food and bodies... well so is lithium to some extent.
...did you expect an electrolyte-free battery entirely made of paper and nothing else?
Sadly we'll need to wait for independent studies. Too many companies claim bio degradability when they barely break down when buried for a long time. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=SxUkMG2Io4w shows the greenwashing.

According to this which links to a dead link, they've found a decades old hotdog in a landfill. So. Yes, I'm saying hot dogs aren't biodegradable.

Has any thought been given to what happens if a kid swallows one of these batteries? I'm wondering if they're better or worse than swallowing a typical tiny cell battery.
